Loftis Underground, having started in 1996 as a septic system construction business in Cookeville, Tennessee, has evolved into a full service excavation, cabling, and boring operation. Specializing in not only urban environments, but also rural working conditions. Loftis takes pride in employing well-trained and highly knowledgeable crews accustomed to the challenges of laying cable in all types of surface conditions, weather, and terrain. The growth of any company can be traced to the quality of its people, and Loftis Underground is no exception. Through the dedication and effort of its key managers, the company continues to grow and prosper.

 

Kevin Loftis
Owner

Kevin was born and raised in Cookeville, TN.  In addition to his ongoing commitment to farming, he also worked for the City of Cookeville migrating to the communications industry prior to starting Loftis Underground.  Kevin has a strong work-ethic, cares deeply about his customers and employees, and through his honesty and integrity, is good with people.  Kevin is married to Melissa and enjoys hunting, riding horses, farming, and riding his Harley.

 

 

Melissa Loftis
Office Manager

Melissa was raised in Cookeville, TN and has been married to Kevin since 1997. They started Loftis Underground together the following year. She attended Tennessee Tech and Volunteer State studying Business Management. Most people are amazed at Melissa’s ability to recall numbers and handle financial data. She enjoys the beach whenever possible, swimming, and riding with Kevin on the Harley. Kevin and Melissa also have two children, Houston and Kelsie.

 

 

Carlon Loftis
Senior Advisor

Carlon, Kevin’s father, assisted with the startup of Lofits Underground, providing startup capital and direction for the company at inception. Carlon was born and raised in Cookeville and currently resides on the farm where company operations are now based. Carlon’s primary expertise is excavation. He is among the best dozer operators in the country and currently fills in as an additional field crew member when needed. Carlon continues to make his knowledge and expertise available to ensure company success.

 

 

Ricky Green, Jr.
Field Superintendent / Drops & Splicing

Born in Inkster, MI, Ricky relocated to Cookeville, TN in 1991 and graduated from Cookeville High School in 1996. Having previously worked in farming, Ricky joined Loftis Underground and has worked for the company for 5 years. Ricky exhibits a high confidence level along with a “nothing can’t be done” attitude and expects a good work ethic from his crews. Many people are surprised that Ricky completed Auctioneer School. He also enjoys fishing, hunting, and camping in addition to quality family time.

 

 

Joe Greer
Field Superintendent / Mainline

Joe completed his welding certification at York Institute, Joe started with Maddox Telecom in 2000 and has worked in the telecommunications industry exclusively.He met Kevin at Maddox and in 2002 and joined the Loftis team rising to his present position in the field. Currently residing in Jamestown, TN, Joe is married and has one daughter, who enjoys riding around the farm with him on the family UTV. Joe enjoys working with his crews and likes tinkering on equipment in his spare time.
